Rodney D'Spain
Since graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1988 with a Master's in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1986, Rodney has accumulated 35 years of extensive experience in the design-build industry. His career began with a focus on structural design, leading to obtaining his Professional Engineering License in Kansas in 1992. Rodney has led the structural design for process plants and power generation projects, including five years spent overseas early in his career.
Transitioning to construction, Rodney pursued his passion for building projects. In 2003, he relocated to DFW as construction manager overseeing the transformation of the Lockheed Martin Aero plant in Fort Worth, TX, from the F-16/F-22 program to the F-35 production facility, managing over $1.5B in construction capital projects. As regional construction manager, Rodney established a successful design-build team. Noteworthy projects under his leadership include the Braniff Centre FBO at Dallas Love Field, the Remington Bullet factory in Little Rock, AK, and a weapons assembly plant in Huntsville, AL, among others.
In 2022, Rodney founded RD-1 Construction of North Texas, focusing on commercial and retail construction projects across the DFW metroplex and surrounding areas.
